Revitalizing Charles Williams Park: Starr Whitehouse Chosen for Redevelopment Project in Hudson

We're thrilled to provide an exciting update on the progress of the Charles Williams Park renovation project, a collaborative endeavor between The Spark of Hudson/Eutopia Foundation and the City of Hudson. Our shared objective is to revitalize and enhance Charles Williams Park for the benefit and enjoyment of the Hudson community.

Following extensive community engagement through both online and in-person feedback sessions, landscape architects Scott Sinton and Lucy McFadden diligently crafted a comprehensive plan for the park's transformation. This carefully designed plan, formally adopted by the City through a Memo of Understanding, incorporates the desires and needs of the community to create a vibrant and inclusive public space.

In March 2023, the City of Hudson's Department of Public Works took a significant step forward by issuing a Request for Proposals to identify the ideal partner for the Charles Williams Park renovation project. After careful evaluation, we're delighted to announce that Starr Whitehouse has been selected to spearhead the construction documents and overall implementation. Renowned for their commitment to creating livable, sustainable, and visually stunning spaces, Starr Whitehouse boasts an impressive portfolio, including notable projects like the Marsha P. Johnson State Park and the Battery Playspace.

With Starr Whitehouse at the helm, we're confident in their ability to bring the vision for Charles Williams Park to life. Through their expertise and dedication to creating vibrant community spaces, we anticipate a park that will be cherished and enjoyed by residents of all ages. Stay tuned for further updates as we embark on this transformative journey to enhance the heart of our community.
