Spark of Hudson Community Meeting Recap: Fostering Engagement and Collaboration

The Spark of Hudson held a highly engaging and productive community meeting on June 14th, bringing together a diverse group of community members, stakeholders, and partners. The virtual gathering, conducted via Zoom, provided an opportunity for open dialogue, brainstorming, and collaboration, as we collectively strive to build a brighter future for Hudson.

The community meeting commenced with a Q&A session featuring the Spark of Hudson's founder, Susan Danziger. Susan shared information about the organization's mission, vision, and the reasons behind choosing Hudson as the home for the Spark. Susan eloquently shared the inspiring story of the Spark's inception, emphasizing the deep connection to Hudson's vibrant community, rich history, and its potential for transformative growth. Her thoughtful responses shed light on the vision of creating a hub for innovation, collaboration, and positive change that aligns with the unique essence of Hudson. This interactive dialogue set a positive and inspiring tone for the rest of the meeting, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the Spark's mission in the hearts of all participants.

We then shared comprehensive updates from dedicated individuals leading various community initiatives under the Spark and Eutopia umbrella. Joanie Hunt provided valuable insights into the progress and impact of HudsonUP, while Kelly Crimmins shared updates on the HudsonDOTS program. Amina Hassen shed light on the Hudson Greenport Shopping Shuttle and its continued efforts to enhance transportation accessibility. Mike Alert shared the latest developments on Project Passports, an initiative aimed at supporting travel and cultural engagement for local residents. Additionally, Shanekia McIntosh provided valuable information on the Spark of Hudson grants program, highlighting the impact it has had on supporting local organizations and initiatives. These updates showcased the collective dedication and commitment of the Spark and Eutopia teams in driving positive change and fostering community growth.

The remainder of the meeting focused on actively engaging the community and gathering valuable feedback to ensure that the Spark of Hudson aligns with the needs and aspirations of its residents. We invited participants to share their thoughts, ideas, and suggestions on how the Spark can best serve the community.
