Herbalism for Skincare Workshop
Join us for an intimate hands-on workshop with Aviva of Apis Apotheca at Wally Farms. Attendees be introduced to the foundations of herbal skincare through the lens of Ayurveda and small-scale farming. Aviva will share her own journey into herbalism, then guide a show-and-tell with foundational dried herbs and their uses.

Introduction to Cyanotype with Chris Losee
In this two-hour hands-on workshop, we’ll start by briefly covering the history of cyanotypes, the chemistry involved in making prints, and some of the ways contemporary artists are using this alternative photographic process. Then we’ll dive into making our own blue-toned prints! We will go over safety procedures, mix the solutions, and coat the paper. Then we’ll expose it, and run the print under water to make images appear.

Home Cheesemaking with Susan Chiappini
Enjoy an afternoon of home cheesemaking at The Spark of Hudson with Susan Chiappini. Attendees will participate in making yogurt, creme fraiche, buttermilk and ricotta using fresh raw milk from Chaseholm Farm in Pine Plains, NY. There will be samples for sharing and discussion of the health benefits and science behind the cheesemaking process in this hands-on workshop.

Stargazing at Wally Farms
Join the Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association at Wally Farms for an evening under the stars. Guided by knowledgable astronomers, we’ll explore the night sky through telescopes and with the naked eye, learning to identify constellations and planets.

Join Farmscape Ecology at Wally Farms for a guided walk to explore the ecology and rich history of ancient forests. Together, we’ll learn what makes a forest ancient, why we consider them worthy of special attention, and how they support incredible biodiversity.
