Spark of Hudson 2022 Send-Off

Our motto at The  Spark of Hudson is “learn together”. We’ve learned so much this year from our community: how to show up, listen and help make an impact. We’re excited to continue learning from you (and together) in what we hope will be a happy, healthy new year for us all. -Susan + Albert

Spark 2022 Highlights

  • 128 Hudson residents are now receiving $500 a month (no strings attached) with the launch of the 3rd cohort of HudsonUP, our UBI pilot. A study on the first two years was just released here.

  • Back rents were paid to city landlords, including the Hudson Housing Authority (via HCHC), to prevent dozens of Hudson residents from being evicted.

  • An array of learning sessions launched from climate, crypto, and investing to food security, housing justice, and entrepreneurship.

  • 114 free air conditioners were installed in Hudson homes, making these past two summers a little more bearable for many families. Special thanks to GHPN for this back-breaking work and for being our partner in so many initiatives (including HudsonUP).

West Taghkanic Diner + Mutual Aid

The West Taghkanic Diner became a member of The Spark family. Meals are scrumptious (try them out) — but there’s more. On off-days, the diner is transformed into a mutual aid kitchen, preparing meals for our community. Read More

  • Black Entrepreneur Market

  • GHPN Block Party

  • LatinX Festival

  • Monarda Ear Acupuncture

  • Splashy Tyme Kickball Showdown

  • Waterfront Wednesdays

Charles Williams Park

We held a fun day of community input on revitalizing Charles Williams Park — we’re excited to support city renovations.

The Spark Stage featuring Davon & Friends at Hudson Hall’s Winter Walk

Hope your new year is filled with love, learning and a little pizazz.
