Interview with Larry Walker of What’s Really Good
Larry Walker is the owner of What’s Really Good, a black-owned family ran business located in Hudson NY.
Tell us a little about yourself
My name is Larry Walker, I was born and raised in Hudson NY. I am now married with five children and I worked with OCFS for twenty years, I now work at the Hudson Bluehawk Academy as a restorative justice specialist. I graduated from Hudson Senior High School in 1997. I'm honored to have been given the opportunity to come back to the school and help the youth that attends.
How did you start up What Is Really Good?
I've always loved cooking and I really loved eating lol. I love to make people smile when they try our southern barbecue based food. What's Really Good, is a family ran business that offers hospitality and joy at every event.
What is your ultimate goal for What’s Really Good?
My ultimate goal is that we want a venue, in order to do weddings, and parties, at an affordable price. Many people struggle to find a vendor at their event because of the high value prices.
