Hearth Day : A Celebration of Home
Ecology is the study of how an environment and its inhabitants thrive. Derived from the Greek word Oikos, meaning “hearth”, ecology is central to The Spark’s mission to build and support community here in Hudson.
That’s why this year, Earth Day at The Spark of Hudson is Hearth Day: A Celebration of Home.
Hearth Day offers us a chance to honor the beauty and value of our particular place on planet Earth. We celebrate the fire that warms us, the nourishment of locally-grown food, and the magic of kinship that make this place our home.
This one-day festival, co-organized by The Spark of Hudson and Toolshed, will feature workshops, info tables, and music about sustainability, ecology, climate resilience and healthful living. Hearth Day will be held at the Henry Hudson Riverfront Park on Saturday April 22nd 2023.
