WNYT: Economic vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. alive through Hudson program

HudsonUP was recently featured in a televised segment by NBC Capital Region affiliate station WNYT 13. In it reporter Elaine Houston spotlights HudsonUP participant and Hudson-based entrepreneur, Shaheim Dejesus, founder of Unity Now Networks.

The segment connects the history of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s support of guranteed income and the in practice of that vision in the HudsonUP program.

HudsonUP was founded by The Spark of Hudson, in partnership with the Eutopia Foundation and are also the sole funders of the second and third cohorts (103 of the 128 recipients) and initially launched the Pilot with the Mayor's Office and a local, community advisory board of residents and non-profit leaders, and (first cohort co-funders) Humanity Forward Foundation, in 2020.
