Did you know that most storytelling, including Film and TV involves three acts? Or that TV is different because it leaves you without resolution at the end of each episode? Or that Shorts mostly have only 1 or 2 acts?

Learn the basics of writing film and TV structure, sharpen dialogue, craft amazing characters, find your voice, understand tone vs. theme, end up loving Outlines and Directors Statements as writing tools to keep you focused. By the end of six weeks, you’ll have a short script or outline. Study Short Film screenwriting with local, upstate WGAE screenwriter, ScreenCraft Fellowship, Athena Writers Lab Fellow and AMC Nominee, NBC TV Writers Lab FInalist, and NYFA grant winner, A.C. Cole.

A.C. Cole is a child of the great-unwashed ‘60s, whose parents ended up working-class artists much to the chagrin of their Boston families, so growing up riding a line between wealth and poverty was confusing. When Cole severed an artery at 10, her photographer mom handed her an off-limits Nikon and said “Look through the lens, it will take away the pain," and she was hooked. Cole lurked around darkrooms trying to contain unmanageability inside of tiny vignetted black & white frames, then in undergrad, her love of photo turned into a love of film. One BFA, academic distinction, and an off-beat web-series later, Cole was invited into the WGAE’s Digital Creators Membership. Studying screenwriting at Sundance Collab, Script Anatomy, Jacob Kreuger, and Roadmap Writers,  film & TV through-lines across genres focus on underestimated women with lots to prove and working class instability butting up against unmitigated power, while looking through the lens still addresses the unmanageable.
