Head to The Spark of Hudson for The Late Set—the official afterparty of Hudson Jazz Festival’s opening night. Settle into the 2nd floor for live jazz by bassist Tristen Jarvis and late night bites and a cash bar curated by Dove's Diner. Then head to the 3rd floor Skydeck where Rebecca Borrer of Rager Solutions will carry the energy from the stage straight to the dance floor.

Tristen Jarvis is an upright and electric bassist, producer, arranger, and composer known for his chameleonic, cross-genre artistry. In jazz settings, he recently appeared as a feature act at the 2025 Hudson Jazz Festival with his program Deep Tones for Peace, spotlighting compositions by jazz bassists, and has opened for the Eddie Gomez Trio on Scott LaFaro Day in Geneva, NY.
His versatility spans orchestral, chamber, rock, and pop worlds alike. He can be heard on the soundtrack of Netflix's GRAMMY-winning film Maestro, has toured alongside Joan Jett and Halestorm, and has performed with the likes of Wayne Newton and at the NAMM Show. A two-time recognized soloist at the International Society of Bassists Solo Division Competition, he has also premiered original works blending composition and improvisation.
Tristen earned degrees from Ithaca College (B.M.) and the Cleveland Institute of Music (M.M.). He serves on the faculty at Ithaca College and Cornell University, where he continues to teach and mentor the next generation of bassists.
